UPENDO Labs is launching its first webinar
Last Friday, UPENDO Labs hosted its very first webinar dedicated to technology education for children.
The goal of this event was clear: to present our vision and explain why it is essential to introduce young people to programming and robotics from an early age.
🌍 Why learn technology differently?
Today, most children use screens every day. They consume content, play games, and watch videos. But how many of them truly understand how the technology they use actually works?
At UPENDO Labs, we believe it’s time to shift from passive to active use. To create rather than just consume.
🧠 Programming develops much more than just technical skills
Programming isn’t just about learning a computer language.
It’s about learning to:
- Organize your thinking
- Solve problems
- Break down a process
- Think logically
- Be creative
It’s a cross-disciplinary skill that prepares children for the challenges of the future.
💻 Scratch: an ideal starting point
To make programming accessible, we use Scratch, a visual, block-based language.
Scratch allows children to:
- Create video games
- Animate stories
- Program interactions
- Understand the basics of computer logic
The syntax is simplified and tailored for young learners.
🤖 Robotics and mBot: learning by doing
To make learning even more engaging, we use the mBot robot, which can be programmed via mBlock.
Children can:
- Program movements
- Use distance sensors
- Create interactive games
- Control lights and sounds
This combination of programming and robotics makes learning hands-on and motivating.
🎓 Our courses
Our workshops are designed for children ages 8 to 15; beginners are welcome.
Our next online workshop will take place:
📅 Sunday, March 22, 2026
🎮 Theme: Creating video games with Scratch & mBlock
👥 Limited spots available
🚀 Our ambition
UPENDO Labs doesn’t just want to organize one-off workshops.
Our vision is to build a digital educational platform that will allow children to develop their tech skills in a progressive, structured, and inclusive way.
