Our story
UPENDO was born from a simple conviction: technology should be a tool for empowerment, creativity, and pride for children, young people, and the community.
The genesis
The observation is clear: many children and youth from diverse backgrounds do not see themselves in tech careers. UPENDO Labs was created to offer them a fun and caring space to discover coding, robotics, and digital creativity.
The salon
UPENDO Salon was then born from the desire to highlight African tech talents, build bridges between generations, and strengthen the representation of the Black and Francophone community in Europe.
Today
Today, UPENDO brings together regular workshops, bootcamps, events, and meetings, so that every child, young person, and community member feels legitimate in the digital world.
Tomorrow
Our ambition is to become a reference in inclusive tech education and community salons, by multiplying collaborations with schools, associations, companies, and institutions.

Chendjou Tankou Jerry Herman
Founder & Director of UPENDO
As founder and director of UPENDO UG, he drives the company’s strategic vision and oversees the development of various projects in Germany and Cameroon. He coordinates the development of programs such as UPENDO Labs and UPENDO Salon, with a focus on STEM, robotics, automation, and digital education. His role involves building partnerships, designing programs, supporting the organization’s growth, and creating tangible opportunities for young people, families, and communities. Driven by a long-term vision, he aims to make UPENDO a key player in the educational and technological ecosystem, both in Europe and Africa.
Angelo Jovin Yamachui Sitcheu
CTO & Lead Software Architect
A true architect of innovation, he oversees all of UPENDO’s digital solutions. From system design to infrastructure deployment, he transforms ambitious ideas into concrete, robust, and user-friendly tools. As expert in artificial intelligence and user experience optimization, he places data performance and security at the heart of his work. His goal is to build an agile technology platform that sustainably supports the ecosystem’s growth and the success of its members.
Rony Randof Kasea Zobou
Co-founder & graphic designer
As a founding member of UPENDO UG, he contributes to the development and coordination of the organization’s activities while helping to create its visual identity and supporting the training team. He designs communication materials and graphic content for projects and awareness-raising initiatives, while providing organizational, technical, and creative support for the preparation and implementation of training sessions and community activities.
