About this workshop
A three- to six-month immersive, continuous learning program designed for schools and educational institutions. Each week, students step into the shoes of real engineers. They learn not only how to make their robot move, but also how to make it autonomous using sensors, how to code interactive systems, and even how to compose computer-generated music. By placing a strong emphasis on experimentation and creativity, this program transforms young people’s natural curiosity into solid technological skills.
Learning Objectives
- Mastering physical and software interaction: Understanding how a robot perceives its environment through smart sensors (light, ultrasound) and adapts its behavior.
- Developing autonomy and initiative: Encouraging students to create independent projects (mini-games, melodies on a virtual piano) so they can take charge of their own learning.
- Cultivating key soft skills: Building patience, rigor in algorithmic thinking, teamwork, and the ability to test and correct one’s own coding errors (debugging).
Terms & Prerequisites
- Ideal for schools: A flexible 3- to 6-month program that fits perfectly into a robotics club or after-school activities.
- Active “Test & Learn” teaching approach: Supportive and progressive guidance from UPENDO Labs instructors, tailored to the pace and energy of each group.
- Complete equipment included: Scalable mBot robots and programming computers provided for each academy session.
